Procurement Overview

The procurement process is independent and follows General Procurement Guidelines & World Bank procurement guidelines which are well established and cover adequately all aspects of procurement of Goods, Works and Consulting Services. All the paper advertisements are publishing in Three Languages (Sinhala, Tamil and English) in newspapers are available in island wide and Project Website. Independent contractors can bid for the contract without any political involvement and the selection will be done according to the evaluation report which is conducted by a Technical Evaluation Committee.

PMU (IWWRMP) with World Bank support has already developed Standard Bidding Documents closely aligned with World Bank procurement philosophies. Goods, Works and Consultancy are the main procurement categories identified to implement the IWWRMP.
