Achievements

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between Integrated Watershed & Water Resources Management Project (IWWRMP) and Water Resources Board (WRB) to fulfill the objective of the Project Component: "Strengthening of groundwater resources management" of Sri Lanka on 05th June 2023. The MOU was signed by Mr. U.D.C. Jayalal, Secretary, Ministry of Irrigation and Dr. J.D. Samarasinghe, Chairman, Water Resources Board.

 

The Government of Sri Lanka and the World Bank signed a $69.53 million credit agreement on 22 April 2021 to improve dams and irrigation schemes covering 165,000 hectares of agricultural land and improve the management of watersheds and water resources.
