Project Overview

The Project Development Objective (PDO) is to improve watershed and water resources planning and enhance functionality of water resources infrastructure. Functionality refers to improved safety of dams and improved water distribution networks for irrigation.

PDO Level Result Indicators

The Project Development Objective level result indicators for the IWWRMP are as follows:

•  Watershed Management plan developed for Upper Mahaweli Watershed

•  Number of dams at risk (Number)

•  Area provided with new/improved irrigation or drainage services (CRI, Hectare)

Project Components

The IWWRMP project design constitutes of two main project components that outline the project scope, it’s mission and vision. They are:

•  Component 01: Watershed and Water Resources Planning

•  Component 02: Infrastructure Improvements

•  Component 03: Contingent Emergency Response

•  Component 04: Project Management
